Kayak Rentals in Northwest Florida
Kayaking the Blackwater River is a must-do for outdoor lovers in Northwest Florida. Whether you prefer a solo paddle or tandem kayak, Blackwater Joe’s makes it easy to explore the river at your own pace — just minutes from Milton, Crestview, Holt, and Pensacola.
With gentle currents, crystal-clear water, and sandbars to stop and swim, our stretch of the river is perfect for both beginners and seasoned paddlers alike.
Your Adventure Awaits
This isn’t just a kayak trip — it’s a peaceful journey through the winding bends of one of Florida’s last untouched rivers. Paddle beneath tall pines, over tea-colored waters, and past white-sand banks that invite you to pause, relax, and take it all in.
What makes Blackwater Joe’s different? Our private launch is the northernmost kayak access point on the Blackwater River, giving you longer float times and a smoother ride. No hauling boats across hot sand — just show up, gear up, and paddle out.
Whether you’re planning a solo morning paddle or a full-day trip with friends, you’ll see why kayakers return here again and again.

How long are the canoe trips, and what are my options? You can choose between 1-hour, 3-hour, or full-day floats. The 1-hour option is great for beginners or families with young children. Our full-day trip is perfect if you want to spend time on sandbars, swim, or just enjoy a slow, scenic paddle. Final shuttle leaves at 3 PM — all trips must return by 5 PM.
-
Where do we launch and return? We launch from our private access point near Holt, which is the northernmost canoe launch on the Blackwater River. That means more time paddling, less time walking, and the most scenic stretch of the river. All trips return directly to our property — no car shuffling required.
